Aaron Juarros

Aaron was born and raised in the Sangre de Christo mountains of northern New Mexico to a ranching family of Basque descent. Aaron has a Master of Fine Arts from the Edinburgh College of Art in Scotland and now occasionally teaches foundry and metal casting at the local university. Aaron is also an audiophile and reggae vinyl collector. He owns and operates Big Toes HiFi International, a custom hand-made traditional Jamaican reggae sound system.

Angling has always been the guiding light of Aaron’s life … so much so that he and his family have explored the world with flyrods in hand. The waters of Patagonia, Britain, New England, the Pacific Northwest, and Canada have all been explored. Aaron lived in the Scottish Highlands for several years. “I would fish the River Spey, Deveron, and Dee all season long. I learned much of Angling’s rich history and was able to seek the Atlantic Salmon that I had fallen in love with on New Brunswick Canada’s Mirimachi River”.

Aaron, his wife, and two sons have now returned home to the Land of Enchantment. Moving water and trout are his passion. Fly rod building and fly tying enrich his experience.

Aaron has plenty of angling anecdotes from around the world. A day spent on the water with him as your guide promises to be fun, inspiring, and exciting.
